Just finished our bathroom remodel and wanted to share some costs I did NOT budget for that added up quickly: 😅
1. Dumpster rental - $400 (didn't even think about this!)
2. Upgraded electrical panel - $800 (needed for new bathroom fan)
3. Fixing water damage behind old tiles - $600
4. Permits and inspections - $350
5. Extra waterproofing materials - $200
6. Temporary shower at gym - $80 (3 weeks of guest passes)
7. Eating out more because dust everywhere - $300ish
That's almost $3,000 in stuff I didn't plan for! Make sure to add at least 20% contingency to your budget. You'll need it. Has anyone else been surprised by hidden costs?
