Designing our master bathroom remodel and considering adding a separate toilet room with its own door. This would make the bathroom smaller overall but give privacy. 🚽

Is this worth it? My spouse loves the idea (privacy when one person is showering/getting ready). I'm worried about making the bathroom feel choppy and smaller.

For those with toilet rooms - do you actually use/appreciate the separate space? Or does it just complicate the layout? Our bathroom is 10x12 total, so not huge but workable.

Also, does it need a window/fan in the toilet room or can it share with main bathroom ventilation?
