Okay, permit question time. I'm getting different answers from different contractors about what requires permits for my bathroom remodel. Some say I need permits for everything, others say only for plumbing/electrical. 🤷♂️
I'm planning to:
- Replace toilet and vanity (no location changes)
- Retile shower walls
- Add new light fixtures
- Replace flooring
Do I need permits for any of this? I'm in Illinois (suburbs). Don't want to do anything illegal but also don't want to pay for permits if they're not needed. What was your experience?
