I LOVE the look of matte black faucets, shower fixtures, and hardware. My designer is pushing for them and I think they look amazing. But my spouse is worried they're just a trend that will look dated in 5 years. 😕

What's the consensus? Are matte black fixtures going to be the "remember the 2020s" thing like brass was for the 80s? Or are they here to stay?

Also practical question - are they harder to keep clean? I've heard mixed things about water spots showing up more.
